My baby first Christmas

This year will be my son Jake first Christmas.  He will be ten months old by Christmas.  I do not think my husband and I need to really get any gifts for our son this year.  After all is first birthday is just around the corner from Christmas.  He has no clue as to what either are so we  decided we would do his birthday but not Christmas.

It is not so much about the money it just that he is growing so fast we are always buying him cloths he never short on stuff toys and what not.   So when my mom asked what we were doing for Jake she got all upset saying how cheep we were being.   I told her he will still get all the gifts from friend and family why just get him more junk just to on a day he has no clue about yet?

Okay not worried about what my mom thinks really any way.  I am just wondering if my husband and I are the only one that feel this way?  We will do Christmas for him when he can understand what it is all about.  Give me your feed back would love to know I am not alone when it comes to this.
