So I took my son to the dentist he is five years old. I am told he has three small cavities and a baby rootcanal that should be taken care of. Okay so it has been a while since I was a kid but my parents never had me get a root canal on a baby tooth. The dentist would just pull it if the tooth was bad.
My son dental care with the dental insurance I have (that does not cover much.) my cost would be over a 1000.00 since he advises that my son is put to sleep during the dental procedure. I am not sure about any of the work he wants to do. Small cavities are not hurting him. He will be loosing those teeth soon any way.
As far as the tooth that needs the root canal why not just pull it. I know pulling it would be a lot less costly then doing a root canal and cap. I said this to the dentist but acourse he shot me down and said he would not advise on having the tooth pulled so soon.

My son is ten and it is looking like he will not be getting two of his adult teeth. I have him in braces now that my dental insurance is helping regarding the braces. The issue is he may still need to have dental implants if he does not get his adult teeth in. My current dental insurance does not cover for dental implants.
Although it will not be for a while yet. What can be some of my opitions when it comes to getting help for dental iplants for a minor?

My son is six and he needs to have a crown on one of his back molars. The dentist was wanting to put a metal crown on his back tooth but I do not want him to have a ugly metal crown. I would like him to have a full porcelain crown so that it looks like his other teeth. Is that possible or can he only have a metal crown?

Can anyone advise me as to the importance of putting dental sealants on baby teeth. My daughters dental hygienist has be advising me to have this done on my daughter teeth. I am not sure I see the point of getting dental sealants.
My daughter is seven and she only had one small cavity. My hesitation is like many people I fall into the “working-poor” category on top of it I am a single mom with no dental insurance. So I really need a valid reason to have this extra expanse.

My husband teeth are going bad. He is in pain off and on and really needs to see a dentist about his bad teeth. However we do not have dental insurance and since we just had twins girls we do not have the extra money for him to have major dental work done.
Please help were can he go to fix his teeth up without costing us an arm and a leg? I hate seeing my husband wince when he causes his teeth to hurt by eating something. He wants to put it off saying we need the money for our daughters which I understand but him being in pain is not helpful to anyone.

I am not sure why my son has bad baby breath. He is eighteen months old and I have taken him in to see the dentist who says his teeth are fine. However to me his breath is not so great. I not all the time bad but when it is bad it is bad so to say.
What can I do to get rid of the bad breath that he has? I think he is too young for mouthwash. Is there something I am not doing?

So I have a fourteen month old daughter. She started teething at ten months and now she has quite a few baby teeth in. I am a new mother and I think I should take her to see the dentist. However I do not have dental insurance on her only medical.
My daughter’s dad is not helping me as much as he should, so I know he will not pay for her to go to the dentist. I am lucky he does watch her when I am working since he is right now laid off from his job. Any way what should I do? Should I take her to see the dentist anyway? If so where do I find a good but cheap dentist? Since I am the one having to pay for everything.

My son is going on two and I want to take him to his first dental appointment. My problem is I missed the open enrollement period for my dental plan I get though work. I now have to wait another eight months until I can add my son to my dental plan.
Should I wait it out since he does not have any problems with his teeth and I do cleam them after every feeding. Or should I just pay out of pocket for him until I can add him to my dental plan.

What should I do. The dentist says my six year old daughter needed to have a filing done. So I went ahead and had them do the filling. Three week later I notice my daughter tooth had a hole in it. The filing came out! I call the dental office and they put me off for three days.
That they could not get her in any sooner. This really upset me since they must have done something wrong that the filling would have come out already. What the heck am I do in the mean time?

What can you tell me about the Careington dental discount plan? My job in the past never offer any insurance to us since there is only four people that work their that is not family. I really did not care to much since my pay is well and my husband get medical from his job.
Now my job is saying that they will be getting this discount dental plan for us called Careington 500. If we want it they are going to take 5.00 a month out of our pay checks. Okay five dollars a month is nothing and it nice that they are trying to give us something but is it worth it? Should I sign up my family for it? Do not know much about discount plans and how they work could you explain
