Baby dental care, Dental care for my Autistic son

Monday, Jul. 19th 2010 8:35 AM

I am wondering if this is just to much dental work for my son who is five and autistic.   Since my son is autistic it is hard for me to brush his teeth very well.  That is one of the reasons I go to the dentist four times a year instead of just the two.

However he currently has five new cavities.  That the dentist want to do the  fillings and then put crown on his teeth.  He said he wants to crown them because there are signs that show he is grinding his teeth.

Anyway the crowns are needed because the dentist said with the cavities and him teeth grinding he may start to crack or brake his teeth.  All of this is a total cost to me after the insurance of $1875.00.  I will have the filling done, but having the crowns on most of his teeth is just too much right now.  I worry I will never see an end to his dental care.  I need some advise on teeth care so that maybe I can get him to stop his teeth grinding and take better care of his teeth.
