Baby dental, Caring for a baby with a Cleft Palate

I have a six month old with a cleft palate beyond the surgical fixes, which I am understanding,  I would like to know about dental care.   she is cutting her first tooth but I am wondering about dental care.  Are there things that I know that go beyond just cleaning her teeth?  When should I take her to see a dentist?  Any tips would be nice.
