Parents falling short on proper pediatric dental care
According to a MetLife study done over half of parents surveyed, (60%), stated their kids do eat sugary foods at least once a day. Though parents should consider how often their children are eating sugary snacks, and if parents cannot brush their child’s teeth after eating a such a snack, to at least rinse with water.
This is because eating sugary foods can cause damaging acids to form in the mouth, which can affect teeth for at least 20 minutes before they are neutralized. Chewy sweets stick to the surface of the teeth, spending more time in the mouth and potentially causing more damage.
