Baby Dental – What is Dental Fluorosis

Tuesday, Dec. 10th 2019 6:42 AM

Question: What is dental fluorosis? Does it have to do with fluoride? I was told that it does and that fluoride is bad to use. Is that true?

Reply: You want to watch out how much fluoride your child is exposed to. Normally a child will get this while their teeth are still developing up to around six to seven years of age.

Fluoride is in more then just your toothpaste, it can be in your water, vitamins, and certain baby food. Make sure that you use very little tooth paste just a small pea size is all you need. Also ask your child dentist about this he or she can go over more facts in detail and advise you based on your child dental care needs.
